Extrude Hone solutions for industry at the MECSPE.
The industry’s main problem is the shortage of skilled workers. Major industry challenges are due to a mismatch between supply and demand for trained personnel in manufacturing. Manufacturing is facing a shortage of human resources, particularly in the mechanical, textile, and metallurgical sectors.
Extrude Hone has found many ways to solve this problem through technology and automatization:
- Our technology enables us to perform complex, if not impossible, manual tasks using machines, increasing productivity and addressing the labor shortage.
- We have implemented automation capabilities within our technologies to increase productivity further.
But technology alone doesn’t solve everything… We focused on the human factor, which is essential.
In our manufacturing plants, we have developed internship programs involving apprentices at various levels of study to help young people prepare for entering the manufacturing world as professionals.
Our action meets our customers’ needs by ensuring they find people familiar with our finishing and deburring processes in the market.
In addition, we offer our customers on-demand training in engineering and production capabilities to improve their general knowledge of the technology or master a specific process.

Thermal deburring (TEM):
Thermal deburring is a reliable method for the fluidic industry. It removes burrs from manifolds, valves, and connectors, leaving them clean with no burrs or particles.
For the desired functionality of a manifold, it must not have any burr or loose particles left inside. Burr getting dislodged, carried away with the fluid, and getting caught in the wrong place is a potential safety hazard.
How to get rid of burrs before putting the manifolds to use?
Thermal deburring (TEM) has been a proven solution for decades, instilling confidence in its effectiveness. Regardless of manifold design complexity, TEM is effective for various materials, from zinc, aluminum, and cast iron to steel and stainless steel.
This process is flexible and accessible, making it ideal for various applications, from large batches of small bulk parts to one-meter-long shafts, with multiple variations.
Discover how to vaporize quickly and automatically burrs using thermal deburring with a T-Series machine.
Electrochemical Machining:
We offer Electrochemical Machining (ECM) to achieve selective deburring at high productivity levels.
Our solutions have been field-proven in the automotive, aerospace, fluidics, medical and energy industries. Deburring can be combined with a one-step shaping and polishing operation.
With ECM, you can achieve superior productivity by integrating it smoothly into a fully automated line.
For example, in medical land, for knee implant manufacturing, Extrude Hone offers a perfect electrochemical machining solution for finishing the intercondylar zone (the central section of the box) and the cam zone, which require strict dimensional tolerance and parallelism.
These benefits stem from ECM’s unique ability to machine complex shapes in hard materials with high precision and minimal stress on the workpiece: ECM’s efficiency compared to CNC milling remains high for difficult-to-machine materials.
ECM goes beyond the Static Method and comes with Dynamic ECM; a perfect illustration is the ECM rifling. In some situations, ECM Dynamic could also become ECM drilling in unthinkable areas.
Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM):
If you need smooth polishing, micro-deburring, or edge rounding, Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM) can meet your requirements.
AFM provides a surface enhancement of ten times compared to the incoming roughness. It is used across various industries, from Medical to Aerospace, from Energy to F1.
AFM might be the answer if you want to replace manual polishing or polish intricate AM manifolds and closed impellers in out-of-sight areas.
